Suggested name | Sycori Tho |
Planet type | Planet |
Sycori Tho is similar in composition to Lytrin Roncal, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger planets. This planet is named after the deity Sycori Tho, the bringer of destruction.
At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Lytrin Roncal.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 150°K (-123°C) at night to 385°K (112°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Sycori Tho 1800 and ExoSycori Tho rovers. Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Sycori Tho due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 6 percent of Lytrin Roncal's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator).
Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators.
The arid surface is crawling with friendly and medieval plants called the "Kaler-ca". They survive while seeking plants if they can. Most of them are not related to Anke and have 4 legs and vary in size from 60 to 110 mm. Most Kaler-ca can endure temperatures from -60 to -40°C and predators attacking. |
