Suggested name | Beanosi Mevos |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Ijipanoe, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, rarely, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
This cold planet is named after the deity Beanosi Mevos, the god of the underworld.
Beanosi Mevos's thick clouds render observation of its surface challenging in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 32 years ago.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Ijipanoe, Nusnome, and HD 4203.
Beanosi Mevos is primarily composed of hydrogen chloride with a significant part of its mass being ozone, though ozone comprises only about a limited fraction of the number of molecules.
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Beanosi Mevos approached its equinox 7 years ago. Wind speeds can reach 153 metres per second. |
