Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Thea Pa |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Dralind, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
The planet is named after the deity Thea Pa, the bringer of nature.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to HD 33632 A means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 7 bar, or roughly the pressure found 1485 m under the oceans of Dralind.
A prominent result is the "great gray spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first seen by telescope.
In 1192, images from Wayfinder 3 showed Thea Pa as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other huge cold gas giants.
One of this planet's moons is occupied by strange yet primitive carnivores, the "Casite Cali", which survive by killing the somewhat smaller "Poreu Daauto" during the day. Most of them are similar to the Phaëri Ao, have 9 tentacles and vary in length from 70 to 90 cm. Casite Cali can thrive at temperatures from 60 to 100°C and sometimes very low gravity. |
