Suggested name | Chaegufu-shi |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is named after the deity Chaegufu-shi, the creator of the sky.
Two spacecraft have visited Chaegufu-shi: Daedalus 10 flew by 39 years ago; and Messenger, launched 11 years ago, orbited Chaegufu-shi over 140 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's surface 11 years later.
The hydrogen has probably photodissociated, and the free helium has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a neon layer.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of water.
In late February 1800, Chaegufu-shi was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Chaegufu-shi's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Sarya-bo.
Like the other cold planets, Chaegufu-shi has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Byakyo being the least visible one. |
