Suggested name | Tsumu-n |
Planet type | Terrestrial |
Tsumu-n is the smallest and innermost planet in its solar system.
When viewed from Teto-yashi, Tsumu-n can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. The planet is named after the deity Tsumu-n, the goddess of good fortune.
Two spacecraft have visited Tsumu-n: Daedalus 8 flew by 50 years ago; and Messenger, launched 21 years ago, orbited Tsumu-n over 105 times in four years before exhausting its fuel and crashing into the planet's surface 4 years later. |
