Suggested nameRion Lind'puck
Planet typeSmall warm gas planet
This planet is named after the deity Rion Lind'puck, the god of good fortune.

Rion Lind'puck is gravitationally locked with HD 22946 in a 2:1 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system. As seen from HD 22946, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.

Rion Lind'puck is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light. Rion Lind'puck's surface is a dry desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism.

In November 2100, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Rion Lind'puck.

Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 165 kilometers across when Rion Lind'puck is closest because of Earth's atmosphere.
