| Orbiting within Tekate Nyu's orbit, Nyapi is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from HD 158259; its maximum angular distance from HD 158259 (elongation) is 82 degrees.
Nyapi is the only habitable planet orbiting HD 158259 and one of the oldest in its solar system. This cold planet is named after the deity Nyapi, the creator of nature.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the future terraforming potential of Nyapi, as well as the possibility of extant life.
Nyapi is primarily composed of hydrogen peroxide with a significant part of its mass being carbon monoxide, though carbon monoxide comprises only about a limited fraction of the number of molecules.
Nyapi has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Wayfinder flyby missions and later by the Hotchins orbiter. |
