Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Sitieuan |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Sitieuan is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Sitieuan is orbiting HD 155358 every 190 Earth days.
The planet is named after the deity Sitieuan, the demon of prosperity.
Sitieuan's axis has the smallest tilt of any of its solar system's planets. Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 70°K (-203°C) at night to 1050°K (777°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Kinsaxa-li, Theus Tay, and HD 155358.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator).
The latest probe to visit the planet is Juno, which entered into orbit around Sitieuan after a lengthy voyage. |
