Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Hyachu |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Shosu, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, rarely, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
Hyachu's atmosphere is similar to Shosu's in its primary composition of oxygen and molecular hydrogen, but it contains more "ices" such as water, ammonia, and methane, along with traces of other hydrocarbons. The planet is named after the deity Hyachu, the spirit of nature.
When viewed from Shosu, this proximity to HD 13908 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 165°K (-108°C) at night to 385°K (112°C) during the day across the equatorial regions. |
