Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Inus |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Nypad Acupe, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
The planet is named after the deity Inus, the bringer of destruction.
The polar regions are constantly below 207°K (-66°C).
Inus is a cold planet and is sometimes called Earth's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to HD 136352, and bulk composition.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Inus due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 4 percent of Earth's, except at the lowest elevations for limited periods. The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 11 meters.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold planets, Inus lacks a well-defined magnetic field. |
