Suggested name | Chagyu |
Planet type | Terrestrial |
Chagyu is the fourth planet from HD 107148 and the second-smallest planet in its solar system. Orbiting within Hoze Bigyu's orbit, Chagyu is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from HD 107148; its maximum angular distance from HD 107148 (elongation) is 50 degrees.
Chagyu is the oldest planet known belonging to HD 107148 and one of the smallest in its solar system. It is named after the deity Chagyu, the spirit of dreams.
Chagyu is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 261°K (-12°C).
Chagyu's thick clouds render observation of its surface challenging in ultraviolet light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 44 years ago.
The largest moon is entirely crawling with aggressive but ultra advanced oceanic creatures, the "Taga", that feed in caves by finding nourishment in plants during the day. Most Taga are similar to the Hoju and have wings and vary in size from 70 to 150 mm. They are able to withstand temperatures from 60 to 160°C and prolonged periods without food which is rare on this planet. |
