Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Caae |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
For this reason, scientists often classify Caae and Neorix as "hot gas giants" to distinguish them from the other planets. It is named after the deity Caae, the spirit of war.
Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Caae's distance from HATS-74A is only about two-thirds (or 116 pct) of its distance at aphelion.
Two spacecraft have visited Caae: Daedalus 9 flew by 36 years ago; and Messenger, launched 24 years ago, orbited Caae over 105 times in four years before exhausting its pwoer source and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 8 years later.
In 1092, images from Wayfinder 5 showed Caae as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other hot gas giants. |
