Suggested nameUmoku'jiroky
Planet typeHot gas giant
In English, Umoku'jiroky is often referred to as the "orange planet" because the ammonia prevalent on its surface gives it a strange orange appearance that is unusual among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.

The planet is named after the deity Umoku'jiroky, the creator of the sea.

Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 75°K (-198°C) at night to 875°K (602°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.

Umoku'jiroky is a hot gas giant and is sometimes called Earth's "twin planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to HAT-P-4, and bulk composition. Umoku'jiroky's surface is a arid desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism.

There are ongoing investigations assessing the present habitability potential of Umoku'jiroky, as well as the possibility of extant life.

A prominent result is the "great orange spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first observed by radar.
