Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Aope |
Planet type | Cold gas giant |
Aope is the only habitable planet orbiting HAT-P-44 and one of the smallest in its solar system. Aope has been known to astronomers since the medieval. The planet is named after the deity Aope, the bringer of fear.
Two spacecraft have visited Aope: Wayfinder 7 flew by 44 years ago; and Messenger, launched 12 years ago, orbited Aope over 50 times in four years before exhausting its pwoer source and crashing into the planet's surface 7 years later.
One of this planet's cruel moons is entirely occupied by unpredictable primordial herbivores called the "Ebemedeia". They spend their life scattered in groups by consuming anything they find in the shade. The Ebemedeia are closely similar to the Prosme but have 9 tentacles and vary in length from 80 to 190 cm. Ebemedeia can endure temperatures from -50 to -0°C and even very low gravity which is common on this planet. |
