Suggested nameQofyin'p
Planet typeHot gas giant
Qofyin'p is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Qofyin'p is orbiting HAT-P-41 every 2.7 Earth days. Orbiting within Weizyam Yong's orbit, Qofyin'p is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from HAT-P-41; its maximum angular distance from HAT-P-41 (elongation) is 48 degrees.

This hot gas giant is named after the deity Qofyin'p, the demon of nature.

Qofyin'p is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light. It may have had V oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.

Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Qofyin'p due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 8 percent of Earth's, except at the lowest elevations for limited periods. The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of ice.

Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Qofyin'p approached its equinox 4 years ago.
