Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Semoj-otep |
Planet type | Cold planet |
The planet is named after the deity Semoj-otep, the god of nature.
Two spacecraft have visited Semoj-otep: Frontier 8 flew by 39 years ago; and Messenger, launched 17 years ago, orbited Semoj-otep over 70 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's surface 10 years later.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects. Semoj-otep is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 522°K (249°C).
Surrounding Semoj-otep is a vast planetary ring system and a powerful magnetosphere.
Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators. |
