Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Qyan'shwang |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 25°K (-248°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with sulfur dioxide thought to make up the lowest clouds, and formaldehyde the uppermost layer of clouds. It is named after the deity Qyan'shwang, the god of the underworld.
The polar regions are constantly below 180°K (-93°C).
It may have had xenon oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect. |
