Suggested name | Komyaro |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Komyaro is the fourth planet from @STARNAME and the second-smallest planet in its solar system.
When viewed from Kyaamya, Komyaro can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. It is named after the deity Komyaro, the demon of good fortune.
As seen from @STARNAME, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
Komyaro is the site of Titanic Montanus, the tallest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
