Suggested name | Cylthrymr Lyp |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Cylthrymr Lyp is the closest planet to @STARNAME and one of the oldest in its solar system. When viewed from Prospe, Cylthrymr Lyp can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. This planet is named after the deity Cylthrymr Lyp, the spirit of good fortune.
The 2H2O has probably photodissociated, and the free hydrogen deuteride (HD) has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
Cylthrymr Lyp was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
Wind speeds can reach 50 metres per second. |
