Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Mirtis'puck |
Planet type | Warm planet |
The planet is named after the deity Mirtis'puck, the creator of fear.
Like Marrok'tay, Mirtis'puck has been orbiting CoRoT-7 for 1.5 billion years, and never exceeds 32 degrees away from CoRoT-7.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly three times for every three revolutions it makes around CoRoT-7.
It has the densest atmosphere of any warm planets, consisting primarily of formaldehyde.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator).
The latest probe to visit the planet is Juno, which entered into orbit around Mirtis'puck after a tricky voyage. |
