Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Makapina-bauti |
Planet type | Large warm gas giant |
It is a large warm gas giant planet with a mass one-thousandth that of CoRoT-20, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. It is named after the deity Makapina-bauti, the bringer of love and beauty.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly three times for every three revolutions it makes around CoRoT-20.
It may have had methane oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in the Black Sea. |
