Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Ratemyu-mu |
Planet type | Large cold gas giant |
Its orbital period around @STARNAME of @ORBITALPERIOD earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system.
The interior of Ratemyu-mu is mainly composed of ices and rock. This planet is named after the deity Ratemyu-mu, the creator of the sky.
An observer on Ratemyu-mu would therefore see only one winter every four years.
Ratemyu-mu is a large cold gas giant and is sometimes called Earth's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to @STARNAME, and bulk composition. It is radically different from Earth in other respects.
Ratemyu-mu's dense clouds render observation of its surface difficult in ultraviolet light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 20 years ago.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 14 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
A prominent result is the "great blue spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first observed by radar.
The Ratemyu-mu system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. Wind speeds can reach 140 metres per second.
One of this planet's moons is mostly crawling with passive minded but poisonous oceanic life, the "Shunu Pyugyu", which feed scattered in groups by killing the Zonyu plant if it is available. Most Shunu Pyugyu are somewhat related to the Boza'bi and have 11 tentacles and vary in size from 80 to 180 cm. Most Shunu Pyugyu are known to survive temperatures from 0 to 70°C and also intense weather which is common on Ratemyu-mu. |
