Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Wosocho Porya |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Wosocho Porya's atmosphere is similar to Nrira's in its primary composition of hydrogen peroxide and helium, but it contains more "ices" such as water, ammonia, and methane, along with traces of other hydrocarbons. This planet is named after the deity Wosocho Porya, the spirit of prosperity.
Two spacecraft have visited Wosocho Porya: Frontier 4 flew by 29 years ago; and Messenger, launched 25 years ago, orbited Wosocho Porya over 50 times in four years before exhausting its fuel and crashing into the planet's surface 4 years later.
As the closest planet to Nrira, Wosocho Porya has been a prime target for early extra solar exploration.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 11 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
The latest probe to visit the planet is Pointer, which entered into orbit around Wosocho Porya after a problematic trip. |
