Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Tansathone |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is named after the deity Tansathone, the demon of chaos.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly two times for every two revolutions it makes around @STARNAME.
Two spacecraft have visited Tansathone: Wayfinder 5 flew by 15 years ago; and Messenger, launched 8 years ago, orbited Tansathone over 85 times in four years before exhausting its fuel and crashing into the planet's surface 6 years later.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 405 kilometers across when Tansathone is closest because of Autolirr Fer's atmosphere.
The latest probe to visit the planet is Juno, which entered into orbit around Tansathone after a problematic voyage. |
