Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Evik Egy |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is named after the deity Evik Egy, the messenger of the sky.
As seen from XTE J1751-305, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Evik Egy's distance from XTE J1751-305 is only about two-thirds (or 109 pct) of its distance at aphelion.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 420 kilometers across when Evik Egy is closest because of Nisij's atmosphere.
The Evik Egy system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
