Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Hweng Gyang |
Planet type | Hot planet |
It is named after the deity Hweng Gyang, the goddess of dreams.
When viewed from Gwengw Yue, this proximity to Wolf 1061 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly two times for every five revolutions it makes around Wolf 1061.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 21 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other hot planets, Hweng Gyang lacks a well-defined atmosphere. A prominent result is the "great white spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first seen by telescope. |
