Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Mesugo Pogyu |
Planet type | Warm gas giant |
It has the longest rotation period (445 days) of any planet in its solar system and rotates in the opposite direction to most other planets.
It is named after the deity Mesugo Pogyu, the goddess of hate.
At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Nyaga Atetsu.
It has the densest atmosphere of the warm gas giants, consisting of huge amounts of 2H2O.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 33 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Mesugo Pogyu due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 4 percent of Earth's, except at the highest elevations for limited periods.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other warm gas giants, Mesugo Pogyu lacks a well-defined magnetic field. |
