Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Olefa Novyr |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
This planet is named after the deity Olefa Novyr, the spirit of nature.
Two spacecraft have visited Olefa Novyr: Daedalus 10 flew by 30 years ago; and Messenger, launched 24 years ago, orbited Olefa Novyr over 165 times in four years before exhausting its pwoer source and crashing into the planet's surface 5 years later.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator).
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Olefa Novyr approached its equinox 4 years ago. |
