Suggested name | Muewo Nyopo-wa |
Planet type | Hot planet |
This hot planet is named after the deity Muewo Nyopo-wa, the god of good fortune.
Two spacecraft have visited Muewo Nyopo-wa: Daedalus 9 flew by 47 years ago; and Messenger, launched 17 years ago, orbited Muewo Nyopo-wa over 70 times in four years before exhausting its fuel and crashing into the planet's surface 10 years later.
Muewo Nyopo-wa is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 609°K (336°C).
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 450 kilometers across when Muewo Nyopo-wa is closest because of Hyoge's atmosphere. |
