Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Koloma Goxo |
Planet type | Small cold gas planet |
This small cold gas planet is named after the deity Koloma Goxo, the spirit of fear.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 110°K (-163°C) at night to 420°K (147°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Koloma Goxo is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
Koloma Goxo's dense clouds make observation of its surface impossible in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 44 years ago.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. |
