Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Misthy'si |
Planet type | Cold gas giant |
Misthy'si is the smallest and most crater filled planet in its solar system. Orbiting within Apus-chal's orbit, Misthy'si is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-86; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-86 (elongation) is 31 degrees.
The planet is named after the deity Misthy'si, the goddess of chaos.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
Future targets for exploration in the Misthy'si system include the probable ice-covered liquid ocean of its moon Thone Lirr.
The Misthy'si system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
