Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Zerch |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Zerch and Angfyue are cold planets rich in ice. This cold planet is named after the deity Zerch, the messenger of chaos.
Two spacecraft have visited Zerch: Daedalus 4 flew by 23 years ago; and Messenger, launched 9 years ago, orbited Zerch over 110 times in four years before exhausting its fuel and crashing into the planet's surface 8 years later.
As the closest planet to Angfyue, Zerch has been a prime target for early extra solar exploration. It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the past habitability potential of Zerch, as well as the possibility of extant life.
Zerch can easily be seen from Angfyue with the naked eye, as can its orangeish coloring.
Wind speeds can reach 63 metres per second. |
