Suggested name | Mabga-atly Hi |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Mabga-atly Hi and Jarnpor'tibi are cold planets rich in ice. This cold planet is named after the deity Mabga-atly Hi, the goddess of the sea.
Like Jarnpor'tibi, Mabga-atly Hi has been orbiting Kepler-495 within Jotrir Nome's orbit as an inferior planet, and never exceeds 10 degrees away from Kepler-495.
It has the densest atmosphere of the known cold planets, consisting partly of sulfur dioxide.
Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Mabga-atly Hi's hostile surface conditions.
Mabga-atly Hi is the site of Titanic Montanus, the most active volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 495 kilometers across when Mabga-atly Hi is closest because of Jarnpor'tibi's atmosphere.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold planets, Mabga-atly Hi lacks a well-defined solid surface. The largest moon, Methe Io, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Jupiter. |
