Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Ibojini't |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
This planet is named after the deity Ibojini't, the spirit of the underworld.
Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Ibojini't's distance from Kepler-428 is only about two-thirds (or 116 pct) of its distance at aphelion.
Two of Ibojini't's moons, Yrawi and Oriq-u, are are slightly unusually shaped.
The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 6 meters.
In late February 2000, Ibojini't was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Ibojini't's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Ururewu. |
