Suggested name | Manaiad Pero |
Planet type | Warm gas giant |
Manaiad Pero is the smallest and most round planet in its solar system. Orbiting within Antealy Me's orbit, Manaiad Pero is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-422; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-422 (elongation) is 62 degrees.
This warm gas giant is named after the deity Manaiad Pero, the god of prosperity.
Like Antealy Me, Manaiad Pero has been orbiting Kepler-422 within Acecali Hy's orbit as an inferior planet, and never moves more than 31 degrees away from Kepler-422.
Two spacecraft have visited Manaiad Pero: Frontier 7 flew by 47 years ago; and Messenger, launched 19 years ago, orbited Manaiad Pero over 80 times in four years before exhausting its pwoer source and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 9 years later.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Manaiad Pero due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 9 percent of Antealy Me's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods. |
