Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Surait Hiophe |
Planet type | Cold planet |
The planet is named after the deity Surait Hiophe, the demon of the underworld.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 115°K (-158°C) at night to 770°K (497°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Surait Hiophe 1200 and ExoSurait Hiophe rovers.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold planets, Surait Hiophe lacks a well-defined solid surface.
Observations from Earth have shown seasonal change and increased weather activity as Surait Hiophe approached its equinox 5 years ago. |
