Suggested nameTasam
Planet typeTerrestrial
In English, Tasam is often referred to as the "brown planet" because the nitric oxide prevalent on its surface gives it a dark brown appearance that is recognizable among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.

The planet is named after the deity Tasam, the messenger of war.

Tasam is gravitationally locked with Kepler-231 in a 2:1 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.

Tasam's surface is a arid desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism.

Tasam's thick clouds make observation of its surface difficult in infrared light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 60 years ago.

Tasam is primarily composed of carbon dioxide with a significant part of its mass being nitric oxide, though nitric oxide comprises only about a tiny amount of the number of molecules. It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other terrestrials, Tasam lacks a well-defined ozone layer.
