Suggested name | Aochodoc |
Planet type | Hot planet |
Aochodoc has been known to astronomers since antiquity. This planet is named after the deity Aochodoc, the demon of prosperity.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly four times for every three revolutions it makes around Kepler-164.
Aochodoc's surface appears extremely cratered and is similar in appearance to the Moon's, indicating that it has been geologically inactive for billions of years.
The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 6 meters.
Like some of the other hot planets, Aochodoc has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Gyans Yupyang-m being the most famous one. In 3078, images from Daedalus 9 showed Aochodoc as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other hot planets. |
