Suggested name | Ryumyoru |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Ryumyoru and Ryosomyu are cold planets rich in rock. For this reason, scientists often classify Ryumyoru and Ryosomyu as "cold planets" to distinguish them from the other planets. The planet is named after the deity Ryumyoru, the messenger of destruction.
Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Ryumyoru's distance from Kepler-1641 is only about two-thirds (or 50 pct) of its distance at aphelion. Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 90°K (-183°C) at night to 910°K (637°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
As one of the brightest objects in the sky, Ryumyoru has been a major influence in native culture for as long as records have existed.
Ryumyoru can easily be seen from Ryosomyu with the naked eye, as can its brownish coloring. |
