Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Otaby |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 48°K (-225°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with sulfur dioxide thought to make up the lowest clouds, and ammonia the uppermost layer of clouds.
The argon has probably photodissociated, and the free ammonia has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
Atmosphere | Ammonia | 67% |
Sulfur dioxide | 28% |
Argon | 3.3% |
Xenon | 1.4% |
Krypton | 6.9E-5% |
Atmospheric pressure | 1.6 bar |
