Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Sesiar Hionn |
Planet type | Cold planet |
The planet is named after the deity Sesiar Hionn, the god of good fortune.
Two spacecraft have visited Sesiar Hionn: Daedalus 9 flew by 41 years ago; and Messenger, launched 9 years ago, orbited Sesiar Hionn over 155 times in four years before exhausting its reactor and crashing into the planet's surface 11 years later.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Sesiar Hionn 1100 and ExoSesiar Hionn rovers.
The Sesiar Hionn system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
