Shodao is the closest planet to KMT-219:BLG-2783 and one of the largest in its solar system. It is named after the deity Shodao, the messenger of hate.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to KMT-219:BLG-2783, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 104 days.
Shodao is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 718°K (445°C).
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on. |
