| Chyi is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Chyi is orbiting HD 179949 every 3.1 Earth days.
For this reason, scientists often classify Chyi and Engxai-xya as "hot planets" to distinguish them from the other planets. The planet is named after the deity Chyi, the demon of good fortune.
An observer on Chyi would therefore see only one day every two years.
