Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Cosul Ata |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
Its orbital period around HAT-P-52 of 2.8 earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system.
This planet is named after the deity Cosul Ata, the bringer of good fortune.
Two spacecraft have visited Cosul Ata: Wayfinder 9 flew by 53 years ago; and Messenger, launched 11 years ago, orbited Cosul Ata over 75 times in four years before exhausting its plasma drive and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 12 years later.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the present habitability potential of Cosul Ata, as well as the possibility of extant life.
Cosul Ata can easily be seen from Symonat Owof with the naked eye, as can its blackish coloring.
Like a few of the other hot gas giants, Cosul Ata has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Canor Et being the least recognizable one. |
