As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly four times for every five revolutions it makes around GJ 3473 A.

It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.

The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 31 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.

The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in the Black Sea.
