Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Carcehe |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
It is a hot gas giant planet with a mass one-thousandth that of CoRoT-5, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. It is named after the deity Carcehe, the messenger of destruction.
When viewed from Thone-calin'ke, this proximity to CoRoT-5 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 15 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
The Carcehe system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
