Suggested name | Lafran'umdita |
Planet type | Hot gas giant |
Lafran'umdita and Iopaka Lanaq are hot gas giants rich in iron. It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 55°K (-218°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with carbon monoxide thought to make up the lowest clouds, and 2H2O the uppermost layer of clouds. This planet is named after the deity Lafran'umdita, the creator of the underworld.
Lafran'umdita was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
The latest probe to visit the planet is Pointer, which entered into orbit around Lafran'umdita after a lengthy ride. |
